CONCERT BY YOUNG N.Z. ARTISTS
Three young New Zealand artists, all of whom are 18 years of age, will give a concert in the Radiant Hall this evening. They are Renais Gage, mezzosoprano. from Hawke’s Bay; Raymond Windsor, pianist, Wellington; ad Wilfred Simenauer, ’cellist. Dunedin. They are at present on a tour of NewZealand organised by Mr Robert Jensen, and the programmes have been conceived with the idea of showing the standard attained by the young players. Miss Gage made her debut on the stage at the age of five, and a year later, she gained six firsts at the Wellington Competitions. Lawrence Tibbett greatly admired her voice when he was in New Zealand, and predicted a future for her. Raymond Windsor has gained success in competitions in Wellington and Dunedin, receiving a gold cup for a record number of firsts. Wilfred Simenauer began his musical career in the town of Gleiwitz. Germany, near the borders of Poland, where his father was the leader of a Symphony orchestra. A second concert will be given in the Civic Theatre on Monday evening.
