DRAWN GAME IN TASMANIA

EDRICH TAKES FOUR WICKETS (Bee. 13.55 am.) LAUNCESTON, January 17. The match between the M.C.C. and Tasmania was drawn. The M.CC, which had scored 467 for five wicketa yesterday when play was abandoned because of rain, declared its inninn closed to-day and dismissed Tasmania for 103._ Tasmania followed on and had scored 120 for six wickets at stumps. The total attendance, were 10.260, and the takings £1176. The wicket was practically undamaged by the rain. The early batsmen were nervous, and seven wicket, ware down for 30 runs before Murfett, a left-hand batsman, attacked the bowling, pulling and driving aggressively for 66 minutes and hitting seven fours. W. J. Edrich, who at one stage had taken three wickets for no run, and J. T. Ikin, who had taken three wickets for 3 runs, were both punished later.
