LABOURER SENTENCED AT DUNEDIN
CHARGES OF FALSE PRETENCES (P.A.) GISBORNE, January 16. A total of nine months’ imprisonment was imposed in the Magistrate’s Court on Alfred Sydney Kerr, aged 42, a labourer, on nine charges -of false pretences involving offers to sell quantities of roofing iron. The police said the accused had 71 convictions against him in 20 years. He had spent 10 years in prison in periods ranging from 15 months to as many days. The accused had committed frauds in towns between Timaru and Auckland.
