IMPORTANT POSTS IN ARGENTINA FORMER RECORD-HOLDERS Mr J. Adams, D.F.C., A.F.C., for- ' merly of Christchurch, has a position : as chief pilot with the Argentine Na- j tional Airlines, flying a. service to ! New York, among other places. His f salary is understood to be about £4OOO. a year, with extra flying pay. Mr A. J. Bradshaw, another formerj Christchurch man. has a position in I the same company as a senior pilot ■ at about £3OOO a year. Both Mr Adams and Mr Bradshaw j (both then holding the rank of squad-' Ton leader) made record flights to l New Zealand about a year ago when they were flying Lancastrians in the Royal Air Force Transport Command. Mr Adams’s aircraft arrived at Ohakea
on March 9 in an elapsed time of 62 hours five minutes from Britain. Next day Mr Bradshaw arrived in 60 hours 43 minutes, which stood as the record until the flight of the Lancaster Aries towards the end of the year. Mr Adams has a distinguished record. He was one of the original members of the famous No. 75 (N.Z.) Squadron of the Royal Air Force, and won the D.F.C. in operations over Europe. Later he succeeded Squadron Leader F. J. Lucas as commander of the RoyaL New Zealand Atir Force transport squadron in the Pacific. He did some test flying in America and flew in the Atlantic, United StatesAfrica and United States-Australia ferry services. He is the only son of Mr and Mrs R. J. Adams, Glasgow street, Linwood. Mr Bradshaw had extensive civilian flying experience in New Zealand before the war. He served with distinction in both the European and Pacific theatres. He is a son of Dr. J. C. Bradshaw, Cashmere.
