BRITISH FOOTBALL RESULTS

(Rec. 11 p.m.) LONDON, January 12. A crowd of 1,000,000 watched Association football cup ties in spite of the rain, which was torrential in many parts of Britain. Second Division teams knocked out five First Division clubs—Aston Villa, Blackpool, Leeds, Huddersfield, and Sunderland. Burnley overwhelmed Aston Villa 5-1, depriving Aston Villa of the chance of adding a seventh cup final victory to its record list, which it* holds jointly with Blackburn. A crowd of 70,000 saw Arsenal and Chelsea draw, 1-1, at Stamford Bridge.
