MR FRASER’S QUIET HOLIDAY

PUBLICITY AVOIDED (P.A.) DUNEDIN, January 12. Probably his first real holiday for 10 years has been taken by the Prime Minister (Mr P. Fraser) this year. Mr Fraser insisted when he was met by an “Otago Daily Times” reporter at Roxburgh that he was not disposed to make any statement for publication nor was. he inclined to discuss anything apart from the weather and scenery.

Consenting to being photographed during his visit to .the children’s health camp at Roxburgh on Friday afternoon, Mr Fraser asked that no public mention should be made of his visit until he had returned to Wellington today. Accompanied by Mr and Mrs H. Kemp and their daughter, the Prime Minister, after visiting other South Island holiday resorts, visited Lake Monowai, where he saw the hydroelectricity works. At Roxburgh he was met by Mr R. Walls, M.P. More than 50 children, who are spending a month at Roxburgh camp, sang for Mr Fraser and gave physical fitness displays. With the matron (Miss J. M. Clark), members of the camp committee and staff, Mr Fraser and Mr Walls inspected the buildings and grounds. On Friday evening Mr Fraser and Mr Walls paid a visit to the site of the proposed hydro-electricity station at Coal Creek on the Molyneux river, where Tests for suitable foundations are being made by the Public Works Department.
