It is officially announced that Jugoslavia has sent Notes to Britain and America threatening to complain to the United Nations unless they adhered immediately to the Moscow and Crimea declarations and their own repeated promises regarding the handing over of certified war criminals to the Jugoslav authorities for punishment. A Jugoslav spokesman said that more than 750 certified Italian war criminals were still free in Italy, constituting a threat to world peace and security. He alleged deliberate British and American delays.

HOTEL IN ROME EVACUATED HEADQUARTERS OF R.A.F. WARNING THAT BUILDING WAS TO BE BOMBED (Rec. 8.30 p.m.) ROME. January 11. The staff of the Royal Air Force headquarters in Rome evacuated the Hotel Milano after the receipt of an anonymous telephone warning that the building was to be bombed. ' , The staff returned after two hours and brought back the documents which had been removed. Reuter’s correspondent in Rome says the police found a borhb in a heap of dirt in front of the hotel. ITALIAN SOCIALIST PARTY RIGHT-WING GROUP TO BREAK AWAY (Rec. 8.30 p.m.) ROME, January 11. Mr Saragat, the Right-wing Socialist leader, told the Socialist Congress that he and his followers were breaking away from the pro-Communist group led by Mr Nenni, the Foreign Minister, to form their own Socialist Party, based on the principles of autonomy and social democracy. There were stormy scenes while Mr Saragat addressed the congress, which was in an uproar for 20 minutes. Many delegates left the hall and others shouted and gesticulated.

AIRCRAFT OVER GREECE FOREIGN OFFICE’S STATEMENT “APPARENTLY SUPPLYING GUERRILLAS” ATHENS, January 10. A Greek Foreign Office spokesman said that an unidentified aircraft had been flying over northern Greece at night, apparently supplying guerrilla bands. The Greek Government, if the flights continued, would be forced to have such aeroplanes shot down. All the major Powers had been notified, and the United Nations would also be advised. TARIFF STRUCTURE IN CANADA REVERSION TO PRE-WAR SCHEDULE (Rec. 11 p.m.) OTTAWA, Jan. 11. Canada will restore to pre-war basis on June 30 the British preferential tariff schedule, many items of which were reduced or removed during the war. The Finance Minister (Mr D. C. Abbott) said the move was being undertaken to permit Canada at the International Trade Conference at Geneva on April 8 to negotiate on the basis of its normal peace-time tariff structure.
