The 18-year-old violinist from Palmerston North, Alan Loveday, was the major success of the evening at a promenade concert in the Royal Albert Hall last night. He played the Mendelssohn violin concerto with the 8.8. C. Symphony Orchestra. conducted by Basil Cameron. *
