THIEVES ACTIVE IN AUCKLAND

PREMISES ENTERED (P-A.) AUCKLAND, January 10. Thieves were active in Auckland last night. Several bottles of spirits were stolen from the lounge bar of the Masonic Club. 1- w o rk room in the same building was also entered and suitle2Mths worth about £ 120 were stolen. The office of Premier Motors, Albert street, was entered. An attempt to blow a safe with a charge of gelignite was unsuccessful. A< T 'X°. l plate „ glass Panels in the door of Mr Albert Brownson’s jewellery shop were broken by a man at midnight. A constable heard the noise and chased the man, who inade his escape. An unsuccessful attempt was made to force the door of a jeweller’s shop on the ground floor of His Majesty’s Arcade.
