BLOOD TRANSFUSION SERVICE

LACK OF DONORS IN HOLIDAY PERIOD Difficulties in maintaining the supply of blood for the blood bank at the Christchurch Public Hospital during the holiday period were mentioned yesterday by the secretary of the North Canterbury branch of the National Blood Transfusion Service (Commander C. H. Kersley). Many of the 700 donors in Christchurch were away, and he was finding it extremely difficult to obtain the 20 donations a week required for the bank. Donors are called on only once ih three months, said Commander Kersley.- He appealed to all donors who had not recently beep called on to communicate with him. There was always room in the branch for new donors also, he said.
