The Australian ranking list of the best 10 was: Nuremberg, Bikini, Bernborough’s breakdown, Palestine violence. the Heath murder trial, the Yoisuki’s voyage, the Republican victory, Indian self-government, the Canadian spy ring. Hugh Baillie’s interview with Mr Stalin. Other nations placed the first thrqe stories as follows: United States, Republican victory, Nuremberg, removal of most price controls; European countries, Nuremberg, Baillie’s interview. Bikini; South America, Nuremberg, the Republican victory, Bikini; Japan. Bikini, Nuremberg, the Republican victory; Philippines. Nuremberg. Philippines independence, the Republican victory. Feather-weight Boxing Title.— Forty-year-old Nel Tarleton, the f British leather-weight champion, has agreed to fight Willie Pep. the American world title-holder, for the world title.
