BOWLS

WEST COAST CHAMPIONSHIP DATES ALTERED From Our Own Reporter GREYMOUTH, November 12. Because of its inability to secure the necessary accommodation for visiting bowlers, the West Coast Bowling Centre has advanced the dates for its forthcoming annual rinks championships tournament from January 6. 1947, to January 17. 1947. The original dates set down clashed with race meetings, and the decision to set new dates followed numerous requests from bowlers in Canterbury and other parts. Entries for the tournament will now close on January 4.

The tournament, which will comrrience on Friday, January 17, will continue until the following Wednesday. It is expected that there will be record entries. It is the intention of the West Coast Centre to arrange a Sunday excursion for the visitors, either to Lake Mahinapua or Mitchell’s.
