CHRISTMAS APPEAL FOR FOOD
FAMINE COMMITTEE REPORTS GOOD RESPONSE
A large amount of gift food has already been received by the Red Cross Society in the Christchurch Famine Emergency Committee’s Christmas appeal. Substantial sums of money have also been received to provide food for the people of Britain, the committee stated yesterday.
The committee acknowledges receipt of £lO from the Cust branch of the Red Cross Society, and has been advised that at the Remembrance Day service at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church. Little River, the Rev. A. V. Maddick received special donations amounting to £3l 4s.
