SATURDAY (Before Mr Raymond Ferner, S.M.) REMANDED John Stuart Shute was remanded to appear on Thursday on a charge of stealing at Nelson Creek a sports coat, a pair of trousers, a wristlet watch, and £6 10s in money, of a total value of £l2 13s, the property of William Raymond Keen. Accused was granted bail in his own recognisance of £2OO and one surety of £2OO or two of £lOO. Ronald Nesbit Seamer, aged 33, appeared on a charge of false pretences m that on August 9 at Wanganui, with Intent to defraud, he obtained from Joseph Groshinski the sum of £l5 by falsely representing that a cheque drawn oi) the Bank of New South Wales was good and valid. Bail was allowed accused in his own recognisance of £lOO and one surety of £lOO.
