REPUBLICAN SUCCESS PREDICTED (Rec. 9 p.m.) NEW YORK. Oct. 31. The magazine “Newsweek’s” poll of 50 Washington correspondents shows that the majority of political writers predict that the Republican Party will gain control of the House of Representatives in the Congressional elections on November 5. Giving the Republicans 228 seats and the Democrats 206 the writers forecast the Senate will be equally divided, with Democrats and Republicans having 48 seats each.
