NO PEACE TREATY WITH AUSTRIA
REPORTED BRITISH ATTITUDE . (Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, October 31. When the Council of Foreign Ministers meets in New York in November, Mr Bevin will put forward the British view that there is no necessity for a peace treaty with Austria, says the Press Association.
Britain will argue that because the anschluss linked Germany and Austria throughout the war, a separate peace treaty is not required, but that a new treaty is necessary, ending the situation created by Hitler.
