NEW INDUSTRIES IN AUSTRALIA
EMPLOYMENT OF 37,000 WORKERS
(Rec. 7.45 p.m.) CANBERRA, Oct. 31. “New industries established in Australia since the war will employ 37,000 workers, including 17,200 in New South Wales, said Mr J. J. Dedman, Minister of Post-war Reconstruction. “New industries which have been established by private enterprise in former war factories leased or sold by the Federal Government include the manufacture of heating appliances, adhesives, plastics, paper, chemicals, caravans, piston rings, and general engineering.”
