An accusation of “using methods foreign to the accepted methods of the Australian worker” was made against the Communist-controlled unions by the acting-secretary of the New South Wales Trades and Labour Council (Mr J. Kenny). Referring to the action of Commun-ist-controlled union members in walking out of the disputes committee of the council, he said:

“Apparently they are not prepared to enter the fight With complete unity. Unions which walk out are splitting the workers who are in dispute. Mr Thornton and other Communist leaders seem to be adopting tactics similar to those of the Russian delegates at the Paris Conference. If they don’t get. their own way they attempt to upset the smooth working of the organisation. “Published statements that some unions are considering disaffiliation with the council wijl result in a complete showdown on the council’s auMr Kenny.
