POSSIBLE VISIT TO UNITED STATES

(Rec. 8 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 22. Racing circles are discussing the possibility of Bernborough visiting the United States as a result of efforts of an American in Australia, and a friend of the owner, Mr Romano, in the United States. The racing weekly, "New York Press,” says leading American turf officials would like to arrange a race between Bernborough and two or three crack American horses. Bernborough’s weight-carrying powers are reminiscent of Phar Lap’s, and together with his enormous size and invincibility in Australia with weights as high of lOst 101 b, this would undoubtedly make him a great American draw-card. The journal continues that American breeders are increasingly interested in Bernborough as a stud prospect. One leading American racing official said that Bernborough would not be asked to carry more than 9st in the United States.
