Situation: a complex depression in the North and C extra! Tasman Sea. A cold front approaching the South Island from the south-west. Forecast to 5 p.m.: fresh north-westerly winds. Weather fair apart from occasional rain in the Alps. Temperatures moderate to mild. Further outlook: a cold south-westerly change with showers, probably advancing from the south during Monday evening. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the Jouth Island is:— Moderate north-eaiterly winds predominating. Scattered rsin developing in north Westland, out weather otherwise mainly fair. Temperatures moderate. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was fine and sunny, with a north-west Wind of gale force in the morning. At 1 a.m. to-day the sky was overcast and there was a light south-west wind. The barometer, at 29.74 inches (1007.1 millibars), was rising.
