ASSOCIATION CODE

FINAL GAMES OF SEASON UNIVERSITY DRAWS WITH SHAMROCK After a very even match, the final of the Watson Cup knock-out competition in the junior grade resulted in University and Shamrock drawing, 4 goals each. Goals were scored for Shamrock by F. Schimanski (2), Fielding, and Hilton. W. Duncan (3) and Horgan scored for University. Referee: Mr M. Cassin. REFEREES' MATCH In a game where flagrant disregard of the rules seemed to be the order, the Association football referees beat the League referees by the odd goal in nine, in the first of what will be annual matches.

Several of the League referees showed some ability at the code, notably E. Clark, who put in some slashing runs. Towards the finish, when • in a losing position, the League men reverted to their own code, but without their own referee this proved to be of no avail. The teams were:—

Association.—M. Cassin: C. Falloon, L. Tointon; T. Mathie, S. Billcliff, F. Adams; A. Pritchard. P. Consedine, T. Gottermeyer, C. Sweene#, L. Fleete. League.—M. Smith; P. Chick, R. Barbarel; N. Clark, P. Kirton, E. Smith, V. Warr, R. Mathie, E. Clark, J. O’Loughlin, F. Carter.

Goals were scored for the winners by T. Gottermeyer (2), P. Consedine (2), and F. Adams, E. Clark (3) and F. Carter scored for the League men.

Referee: Mr R. Wahrlich. The Association team will represent the referees in their annual match against the Rugby referees for the Cox Cup, at Lancaster Park next Saturday.
