WEDDING
RAMSAY—SMART
The wedding of Myrtle Amelia, only daughter of Mr and Mrs W R. Smart, Union Hotel, Greymouth, to John Joffre, second son of Mr and Mrs J. Ramsay, Wye street, Oamaru, took place recently at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Greymouth, the Rev. T. G. Campbel] officiating. The bride, escorted by her father, wore a long-waisted frock, made entirely of lace, with a heartshaped neck-line and full flowing skirt, finished with a long train, and the neck and waist lines trimmed with georgette ruching. A heavily embroidered tulle veil fell to form a second train, and was held In place by a hand-tatted halo, trimmed with orange blossom. She wore a double-row pearl necklace, and carried a shower bouquet of cyclamen, white stock, white freesias, and maidenhair fem The bridesmaids, Miss Joyce Inglis (Grey), and Misses Dorothy and Ngaire Otten (Christchurch), wore frocks of pale blue crepe de chine. They were similar to that of the bride with the heart shaped neck-line and gathered bodices, two small bows on the shoulder, and frills at the waistline and i the skirt. They wore neart-shaped picture hats, elbow length blue mittens, a i4 d carried silver baskets of flowers. The flower-girls. Lynette Harper (Grey) and Marie Mikkelson (Christchurch), wore pink crepe de chine frocks, and pink bonnets, and carried baskets of blue and pink spring flowers. The best man was Mr William Smart (brother of the bride), and the groomsmen were Messrs Russell Chandler (Grey) and Ostell Halliburton (Oamaru)
A solo was suns by Mrs D. Wylde with Mrs J. Bruerton as accompanist. On leaving the church, the bride was presented with two horseshoes by Raylene Gardyne and Rosemarie Lee A reception was held at Harker's, where nearly 200 guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wor- a naw silk suit with a shoulder spray of old rose cyclamen, a model navy hatj and silver fox fur with naw accessories Solos were sung by Mrs Wylde and the usual toasts were honoured an< l Mrs Ftamsay later for Otago and Southland, the bride travelhng in a tan camel hair novelty suit irre l-, fur pockets and brown accetsories.
