CONCLUSION OF CONFERENCE

RENEWED EFFORT TO HASTEN WORK

(Rec. 7 p.m.) PARIS, September 18. Britain and America have renewed their efforts to speed up the Paris Conference, mainly to hasten talks on Germany's peace terms. It is understood that Mr A. V. Alexander (Britain) and Mr James Byrnes (America) at a meeting yesterday explored means of enabling the conference to finish before the United Nations General Assembly meets on October 23, and that they have not yet despaired of the possibility of the Big Four coordinating their views on the Anal treaties even before the conference adjourns.
