SUDDEN STORM
HEAVY RAIN LAST EVENING Many Christchurch workers were caught by heavy rain which set in at Christchurch shortly before 5 o’clock last evening. There was a rush for trams and when business firms and shops closed, and showers contmued for some hours. By 9 o’clock the sky had cleared, but temperatures were still cold. A total of 61 points of rain was recorded by midnight. During the morning the weather was nne.
