TOURNAMENT CONCLUDED AT WESTPORT The South Island tournament of the Licensed Victuallers’ Association was concluded at Westport on Tuesday. In the retailers’ section, E. Holder (Westport) won the medal match. He returned a card of 79, 12—67. C. Schroder (Hokitika) was second with 87, 16—71;. In the wholesalers’ section, J. Brown (Westport), 80, 9—71, and A. C. Keell (Christchurch), 79, B—7l, tied for first Slace, with A. Pain (Westport). 84, 12—72, i second place. The visitors’ medal match was won by H. Rendall (Christchurch), with a card 79, 13--66, from W. Thrower (Christchurch), 89, 20—69. D. L. Woon (Christchurch) won the senior visitors’ championship, and F. D. Jones (Christchurch) won the visitors’ iunior title. H. Lovell (Westport) and ). Francis won the first two visitors’ medal matches, and H. Rendall (Christchurch) won the third match in this section. The visitors’ driving competition was won by R. B. Carr (Auckland), and the putting competition by A. E. Grubb (Christchurch). The special prize in the medal match was won by A. Pain (Westport) and G. Humphries (Christchurch). The visitors’ fourball bogey was won by C. F. Schadick and C. Petersen (Westport) with a card of 7 up. J. Coy and W. Thrower (Christchurch) were runnersup with a card of 6 up. The trade fourball bogey was won by L. J. Moorhouse and A. C. Keell (Christchurch), 4 up, from A. Pain (Westport) and G. D. Varnham (Lyttelton), 3 up. The trade driving competition for the Timaru Breweries’ Cup was won by J. Brown (Westport), and the trade putting competition for the New Zealand Breweries’ Cup was won by A. H. Stevenson (Christchurch). A. Pain (Westport) won the Johnnie Walker Cup for the trade junior championship, and J. Caldwell (Westport) won the D.CJL. Cup for the .trade senior championship. The retailers’ championship was won by A. H. Stevenson, who w,on the White Horse Cup. Winners of other trophies were:—Black and White Cup for trade medal match, H. Wells; O’Leary’s Cup for best gross score in the wholesalers’ championship, A. C. Keell; Arthur Bell Cup for the best score in the trade stroke match, L. J. Moorhouse (Christchurch); Percy Coyle Cup, E. Holder (Westport); F. Cross and Sons’ Cup for wholesalers’ stroke match, J. Brown; Dewar and Haig’s Cups for the trade fourball bogey, L. J. Moorhouse and A. C. Keell. A special fourball bogey prize was won by I, Nottie (Westport) and P. S. Kortegast (Christchurch), with a card of 8 up. L. J. Moorhouse, F. D. Jones, H. Rendall, and C. Robertson won the teams’ match with a score of 292. At the conclusion of the tournament the trophies were presented at a dinner held at the Hotel Buller. CHRISTCHURCH LADIES’ CLUB The monthly bogey match was played at the Shirley course yesterday by members of the Christchurch Ladies’ Golf Club, and resulted in a tie in the senior division between Miss Helen Buchanan and Miss Zoe Hudson, Miss Buchanan winning on the count-back. In the junior division the winner was Mrs H. M. S. Dawson, who reduced her handicap by eight strokes. The following were the best scores:—Seniors: Miss Buchanan. 7 down; Miss Hudson, 7 down; Miss E.
