DESERTERS SENTENCED
On a charge of desertion, Private Joseph Driscoll, who spent three years and a half in the bush in South Westland, has been sentenced to one year’s imprisonment with hard labour, and ordered to make up kit deficiencies of £5 10s lid. He deserted on November 11, 1942.
Private Howard Alexander Martin, who deserted from Burnham on March 21, 1944, after which he was farming and gold mining, has .-been sentenced to one year’s imprisonment, without hard labour, and ordered to make up kit deficiencies of £5 17s 6d.
