CAR STRIKES POLE

PASSENGER INJURED A car with three occupants crashed into a telegraph pole at Hornby last evening and was wrecked completely. One passenger suffered injuries which necessitated his admission to the Christchurch Public Hospital. He was: William B. Brown, of 125 Peverel street, head and leg injuries. The other men, R. C. Garnett, of 125 Clarence street, and G. R. Clegg, of Hornby, were treated at the hospital for superficial injuries and were discharged. Brown was reported to be in a satisfactory Condition early this morning. The car was being driven along Buchanan’s road, Hornby, about 10 o’clock, when it skidded in the shingle and hit the post. Pieces of the bodywork of the car, its wheels, and fenders, were scattered for some distance. Clegg was driving at the time.
