OUTBREAKS OF FIRE
When a container of boiling wax was spilled on a gas flame, fire broke out in a building occupied by the All Black Manufacturing Company, 119 Kilmore street yesterday. Although several tins of wax caught alight, no damage was done, and the blaze was put out with chemical extinguishers by the Christchurch Fire Brigade, which was called at 3.8 o’clock. At 8.31 a.m., the brigade answered a call to 1 Matai terrace, Riccarton, to a fire in a washhouse, on the property of Andrew Todd. Slight damage was done to the ceiling and walls of the building by the outbreak, which was caused by the heat of the copper ehimney. Y.W.C.A.
