BOY SCOUT MOVEMENT
AWARDS TO MEMBERS IN CANTERBURY
Awards to members of the boy scout movement in the county of Canterbury have been approved by the Gov-ernor-General (Sir Bernard Freyberg, V.C.), 'in his capacity as Dominion Chief Scout, as follows: Medal of Merit Mr Arthur W. V. Reeve of 15 Spence street; Shirley, assistanr-county commissioner for headquarters, and honorary county secretary; in recognition of his good services to the movement. Mr Reeve has been associated with the movement since 1922. Mr Ronald J. Moore, of 99 Retreat road, Avonside, assistant-county commissioner for cubs; in recognition of his good services to the movement. Mr Moore has been associated with scouting since 1928. He has held almost every rank in scouting up to commissioner. Miss E. Thbmas, of 28-Harker street, Christchurch. Miss Thomas was until recently district cubmaster for the Totara district, and has been connected with cubbing for more than 11 years. Mr R. C. Mclntosh, of 24 Newcastle street, Linwood, district scQutmaster of the Konini district, for good services rendered for more than 20 years. Mr Mclntosh has for many years been connected with scouting in the Linwood district. The Rev. G. H. Schurr, late vicar of Pleasant Point, and now of Hokitika. Mr Schurr has given outstanding service to the movement during the last 20 years. The Rev. H. Platt, the Vicarage. Kaikoura. for his good services in the Nelson and Canterbury districts. His service covers a period of more than •22 years.
Certificate of Merit Mrs McC. Evans, of Little River, late district cubmaster, Eastern district and assistant secretary, for her good services to the movement.
