REASON FOR RETIREMENT
HON. P. C. WEBB’S LETTER TO BULLER COMMITTEE Referring to his impending retirement from politics, the Hon. P. C. Webb (member of Parliament for Buller), in a telegram to the secretary of the Buller Labour Representation Committee (Mr A. Ridsdale), stated that acting on the advice of his medical adviser, who considered it unwise that he should undertake a strenuous election campaign, he had reluctantly decided not to be a candidate for the forthcoming election. Mr Webb thanked the Buller Labour Representation Committee and all those associated with it for their loyal support. He added that he would always feel it a ’privilege to give whatever service he could in the future to the district with which he had been associated for such a long time.
