SQUADRON LEADER TRENT. V.C.

PRESENTATION FROM NELSON CHILDREN

NELSON, September 16. Fourteen hundred primary school children assembled in a city theatre to-day and gave Squadron Leader L. H. Trent, V.C., a rousing welcome. Tributes were paid by tfr A. W. Alloo, headmaster of the Auckland Point School, who presided, and the Hon. W H Mclntyre, chairman of the Nelson Education Board, who said the district was proud to claim that Squadron Leader Trent received his primary education at the Takaka District High School. On behalf of the children an inscribed silver teapot was presented to Squadron Leader and Mrs Trent, and an inscribed serviette ring to their daughter, Christine.
