D. G. Sullivan, Minister of Supply, In reply to a letter to the editor of “The Press.” writer of the letter, “Rdmney,” alleged that the Minister had been wrongly advised, in that no freezing works were buyers for the export trade at present. Let me assure the Minister, however, that he has been wrongly advised. No freezing works are buying for the export trade. Let the Minister kindly name them if he so thinks. The only freezing works open to-day for mutton are operating practically as an abbatoir for the retail trade; and when a jls is supplied, buying ceases (see Addington reports). Mutton is cheaper to-day than four months ago, when it was bought at schedule.
