NUFFIELD FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) „ „„ , LONDON, September 11. The Nuffield Foundation, which has already created fellowships and scholarships for medicine and dentistry, has announced that it has inaugurated one fellowship and two scholarship schemes designed to advance research, teaching, and training in extraction metallurgy. The foundation is offering: (1) Five travelling fellowships yearly for members of the teaching staffs of Universities, schools, and mines throughout the Empire valued at £5OO each for three months, enabling teachers to visit important Empire mining and metallurgical centres during the long vacations, (2) Five travelling post-graduate scholarships yearly valued at a maximum of £5OO for six months, to be awarded for personality and for general suitability, in addition to examination merit (3) Ten scholarships for students before graduating of £2OO each to enable them to travel by air for vacation work ai important study centres. The Institution of Mining and Metallurgy will assist the foundation to operate the scheme.
