CANADIAN WHEAT HARVEST

LONDON, August 13. The first proceeds of the new Canadian harvest—l.7oo,ooo bushels of wheat—have reached the eastern ports of Canada from the western prairies. Canadian officials estimate that the harvest will reach 300.000,000 bushels. By next month the grain will be pouring in and vast quantities will be on the way to Britain and other parts of the Empire. It is expected that, in view of the earliness of the season, twice the quantity that was previously expected to be shipped next month will be on the water bound for British ports.
