“IRON CURTAIN MUST REMAIN”

JUGOSLAV MINISTER’S SPEECH (Rec. 12.5 a.m.) BELGRADE, May 23. “The iron curtain across Europe is there to protect the interests of all freedom-loving peoples,” said the Jugoslav Foreign Minister (Dr. Simic) urging Parliament to ratify the Jugoslav treaty with Czechoslovakia. He said that a new and more human form of people’s democracy was being formed behind the curtain, which must remain inpenetrable for ever. Jugoslavia and Czechoslovakia would build a single iron wall against further aggression.
