ART OF «NATURAL ” MAKE-UP STAGE SHOW BY EXPERTS New Zealand women are deeply beauty-conscious. This fact was borne out in Christchurch by the large attendance at a recent Demonstration of hair-styling and beauty treatment presented by the Proprietors of Rosaline Cosmetics and Maeder Salons. So great was the demand for admittance in Christchurch that many hundreds were turned away, and wherever these free Demonstrations have been presented enthusiastic throngs have crowded the Halls. In response to many requests, the Demonstration will be restaged at the Wentworth on Monday, May 13th, at 8 p.m. The well-known Australian artist and creator of hair styles, Mr J. Flannagan (who has had Hollywood experience) will make a personal appearance. He will be assisted by Miss Marjorie Pledger, distinguished New Zealand exponent. Together they will describe with the aid of models of all ages, the different principles of Maeder’s exclusive hair-styling. The second half of the evening will be devoted to the art of make-up and the correct use .of cosmetics to enhance natural beauty. This Demonstration will be in the hands of Miss Claire Bather, Australian Beauty Consultant, who will describe the extreme care necessary in the choice of make-up to suit individual colourings of your suits and frocks. Each step will be carefully explained to you, so that you may learn how best to use cosmetics and to distinguish between suitable and unsuitable tonings. A sensational feature of the Demonstration will be the display of solid gold and gem-studded cosmetic containers—luxury articles to gladden the heart—which are replicas of the glamorous cosmetic containers seen in Hollywood and European fashion centres. Altogether a most interesting ‘and instructive evening can be anticipated —an entertainment completely novel to New Zealand, which will be remembered for a long while. In view of the popularity of previous Demonstrations you are advised to ring Maeder Salons to reserve seats as early as possible. Advt
