EXPLANATION BY ACTING POSTMASTER-GENERAL An explanation of the basis on wMA the charge of 4s a half ounce xor air mail letters from New Zealand to Can* ada and the United States is niade v given in a statement from the Acunß* Postmaster-General (the Hon. *• Jones). The statement was madej“ answer to a letter to the editor of Press” which was referred to jg Jones. The writer of the letter, w M. Grant, of Christchurch, asked the charge for air mail letters to Norm America was “so exorbitant.” In his reply. Mr Jones states: — “The New Zealand rate of 4s a nag ounce payable on air mail for .
