RABBITS AS FOOD.—The use of rabbit carcases as food, either for export to needy countries or to free other meats for export, was considered by the Christchurch Famine Emergency Committee last Monday, and it was decided to ask the national committee to take the matter up. This photograph, taken at Burke’s Pass recently, shows a familiar daily scene at homesteads and rabbiters’ camps, where dozens of trapped rabbit carcases are hung on gates or stagings for removal by truck to the freezer.
