ODDFELLOWS’ CONFERENCE
(P.A.) NAPIER. May 7. The twenty-second conference of the New Zealand Order of Manchester Unity Oddfellows opened in Napier to-day, and was presided over by the Grand Master (Mr J. E. Allen, Auckland). All the surviving grand masters in New Zealand were present. At the morning session, the Grand Master’s gold merit jewel was presented to Mr R. Simpson, Nelson, in recognition of haying introduced 139 benefit members to the order in the last two years. There are only six other holders of the iewel in the Dominion.
