DIAMOND JUBILEE OF AGA KHAN
The Aga Khan, celebrations of whose diamond jubilee as spiritual head of the Ismali Moslems began to-day in Bombay. The Aga Khan toured various encampments of his followers. The story was the same at each place. The waiting people screamed: “His Highness comes” as the Aga Khan's car approached. Then there was a reverent hush before gift offerings were made. The Aga Khan, at the tomb of his ancestors, blessed a huge assembly. The climax will be on March 10, when the Aga Khan, who weighs 2401 b, will be weighed against diamonds and receive cash to their value, which may be between £l,O0O»0OO and £1£50,000, all of which is earmarked for benevolent purposes.—Bombay, March 7.
