- < Major H. J. Demouth (Christchurch) was appointed secretary and club manager of the South Canterbury Returned Services' Association at a special meeting of the association on Thursday evening. The appointment wa- made from 20 applications, received from all parti of the Dominion. When Major Demouth was promoted to his present rank he was the youngest major ; n the New Zealand Divicion. He will take up his duties at th f end of this month Mr H J. L. Bailey has been appointed resident inspector oi the Royal insurance Company at Timaru. Mr Bailey will take up T>is new duties during March.
