ARAB PLAN FOR PALESTINE
SUGGESTED NATIONAL STATUS
(Rec. 7.30 p.m.) JERUSALEM. Mar. 7. An 800-page memorandum from the Arab Office in Jerusalem submitted to the British arid American Committee of Inquiry on the Jewish problem put forward the Arab solution to the Palestine question, according to the director of the Arab Office (Ahmed Hukairy). “Palestine must be given the status of a nation with a democratic constitution by which all citizens’ rights are guaranteed regardless of race, colour, or creed,” says the memorandum. “The Arab view is that the only solution lies in the of a Palestinian nation which would be accepted as a member of the United Nations.”
