WAR RECORD OF “THE QUEENS”

< WON 1,000.000 MILE RACE Since the early years of the war, Britain’s famous “Queen Elizabeth” and “Queen Mary” rushed troops to meet emergency after emergency . . . Anzacs to England, Americans to Australia, British around Africa to Suez to help hold Rommel, and then started the continuous trans-Atlantic service, carrying U.S. troops to England. Many times each ship carried over 15.000 men. more than a full division! By the etad of 1944 the two ships had transported a sizeable percentage of all the U.S. troops used on the Western Front. Between them they carried 1,500.000 troops and raced nearly 1.000.000 miles—equal to 40 times round the world. Too fast to need escort. “The Queens” depended almost entirely on speed to evade submarines. They operated much of the time in tropical waters for which they were never designed; yet their 200,000 h.p. engines —lubricated since launching by the makers of Mobiloil—never faltered. To-day they are in perfect condition — almost as good as new. This is significant to you. Your car engine, as precision-built as a liner’s, has also been going through hard service. and demands just as exact lubrication. Be guided by the experience of Cunard White Star engineers. Use only Mobiloil, the World s Quality Oil. Advt.
