AMALGAMATION WITH CITY
POLL TO BE TAKEN AT LYTTELTON
A special meeting of the Lyttelton Borough Council held at noon yesterday confirmed a resolution carried at a meeting on January 28 providing for a poll to be taken on the proposal to amalgamate with the city of Christchurch.
The council was doing the right and democratic thing in moving for a poll, said Cr. R. E. Cairns, who moved that the resolution be confirmed. A noli would give residents the opportunity of expressing their wishes.
