CATTLE KILLED BY RAIL-CAR

COLLISION WITH MOB OF STOCK

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 4. Four cattle were killed when the Wairoa-Wellington rail-car ran into a wandering mob of stock about a mile north of Otaki at 6.16 p.m. on Saturday. The leading wheels of the front bogies of the rail-car were der..iled, and as a result the line was blocked for some time. Difficulties arose when attempts were made to replace the railcar on the tracks, and the line was not cleared until shortly before midnight. The Gisborne-Wellington express was affected by the mishap. Wellington passengers being delayed about two hours They were transported to Wellington by special railway buses.
