MINING Blackwater Mines.—The Blackwater Mines, Ltd., report for the four weeks ended February 22, is as follows: crushed 1904 tons yielding 708 ounces of gold from all sources, the value of which, taking gold at £8 12s 3d a fine ounce, was £6098- Working expenses, not including ordinary or war duty, were £6lOB. Development expenditure was £363. and capital expenditure £322. Review of development work carried out: No 15 level drive south was advanced 32 feet on reef averaging 5.77dwt over 30in. No. 16 level drive north was advanced 37 feet, of which 22 feet disclosed reef averaging B.o7dwt over 12in. No. 16. level drive south was advanced three feet on reef averaging 16.31dwt over 24 inches. No. 16 level rise at 23.55 N. was advanced 35 feet on reef averaging 12 09dwt over 18 inches. Snowy River.—The Snowy River dredge return Ipst week was 123 J ounces in 263 hours frem 44,000 yards.
