FARMERS’ UNION ACTIVITIES
AUCKLAND PROVINCE TO • CONTINUE (P.A.) AUCKLAND, February 15. The statement from Wellington that the New Zealand Farmers’ Union was expected to complete its active existence within two months was denied by the vice-president of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union for the Auckland province (Mr A. C. A. Sexton). “The statement that the New Zealand Farmers’ Union is expected to complete its active existence calls for correction,” said Mr Sexton. “The union will certainly not cease, and, in fact, a motion for winding up was withdrawn at the last Dominion conference. The Auckland section of the union, which comprises nearly half the membership for the Dominion, is actively carrying on its business and there is not the slightest chance of either the Auckland or New Zealand union going out of existence.”
