The promotion of Lieutenant-Col-onel (Temporary Brigadier) A. E. Conway. New Zealand Staff Corps, and of Lieutenant-Colonel (Temporary Brigadier) A. B. Williams. Royal New Zealand Artillery, to be colonels was gazetted yesterday.—(P.A.)
The appointment of the Hon. Mr Justice Blair, the Hon. Mr Justice Smith, the Hon. Mr Justice Kennedy, and the Hon. Mr Justice Callan as members of the rules committee under the Judicature Amendment Act was gazetted yesterday.—(P.A.) Dr. B. H. Mason, lecturer in geology at Canterbury University College, has been elected a Fellow of the Mineralogical Society of America, in recognition of his contributions to mineralogy. There is only one other Fellow of the society in New Zealand, Dr. C. O. Hutton, of the New Zealand Geological Survey.
