N.Z.E.F. TEAM LOSES TWO GAMES

(N.Z. Official News Service.) (Rec. 8.30 p.m.) BOMBAY, Feb. 12: The display of hockey In the latest match played by the New Zealand Expeditionary Force team, which was lost 3-4 to a Bombay area Combined Services team, was disappointing. In the first half the standard was poor and the spell ended without the Kiwis having scored. Bombay was leading 3-0. Although the New Zealanders dominated the second spell the score went to 4-0 before they started to improve. They missed several scoring opportunities and should have drawn. Although the players had rested they were showing signs of staleness and travel-weariness, having covered 7000 miles to play their 16 matches. The match against Jhansi was lost 3-5. The New Zealanders arrived in the early hours of the morning after having had very little sleep on the train, and lacked their usual dash. They attacked in the early stages and opened the scoring, but then faded. At -half-time the score was 1-3. The New Zealanders rallied in the second spell and looked like drawing equal and even winning, but they faded again.
