ASSAULT ALLEGED

♦ FATHER AND SON CHARGED (P.A.). DUNEDIN, February 12. When two surveyors and a constable attempted to enter a Kaka Point farm property yesterday they were opposed by the' owner and his son. who allegedly adopted a threatening attitude by presenting fl»arms. Later an armed police party arrested the men, who were charged this morning with committing an aggravated assault on Constable Boyle. The men were James Murray, aged 74, and Togo James Murray, aged 41. The police stated that after their arrest, and on the way to Dunedin, the accused persisted with stories that if granted bail they would “get guns and do the surveyor* in.” The accused were granted bail conditional upon not obtaining firearms, and they were remanded until February 20.
